Talk: Elixir & Phoenix: a gentle intro
Compared to PHP, Elixir is a new kid on the block, but it has some
unique properties that make it well suited for web applications. In
this talk, Arjan Scherpenisse shows Phoenix, the web framework written
in Elixir, and how it can be used to create realtime collaborative web
applications. Finally, he shows how easy it is to have PHP and Elixir
interoperate.

Speaker: Arjan Scherpenisse
Arjan Scherpenisse is an experienced Elixir and Erlang
developer. After working with PHP and freelancing as a backend
developer for several years, he founded his startup Botsquad, an
Elixir-powered chatbot platform, on which he now works
full-time. Besides coding, he really enjoys teaching and transferring
his knowledge to the next generation of software developers.
