Virtual: Lightning talks

12 Jan

12:30 pm Online event

Hello MK.NET folks!

We’re back in 2021 for a special lightning talk event.

Lightning talks are short (5-15mins) talks on any topic, in our case broadly linked to tech.

This event is open to all, but we would especially like to encourage and support new speakers. Lightning talks are a fantastic way to get started with doing tech talks. If you’ve got an idea but not sure how to convert it into a talk please do get in touch and we can help

Make a New Year’s resolution and tick it off the list within the first fortnight 🙂

We are also trying a slightly modified format by running these sessions over lunchtime [masked] UK time)

You can submit your sessions a couple of ways:
Send a message to Shahid on Meetup with a brief description of the talk

Use this Sessionize link: (Sessionize is used by many conferences so we’re hoping we can encourage you to create a Sessionize profile that you can then use for further submissions to other conferences).

If you have any questions, please let us know!

Thanks to Sessionize for their support with a free license 🙂

Code of Conduct
All attendees & speakers at our events are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all participants to help ensuring a safe environment for everybody.

Our event is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event at the discretion of the organisers.
